After a career spanning over four decades, award-winning journalist Kay McGrath is now a proud ambassador of Reside Communities.
Known best for her years co-hosting the 7NEWS desk, a chance opportunity in 2018 to cover a retirement event sparked her interest in retirement living.
“I was invited to MC the National Retirement Living Summit a number of years ago, and I did that for five years in a row,” said Kay.
“It was really interesting as a journalist to learn more about the sector and of course then the penny dropped that I was part of that demographic!
“I’m a boomer so I developed a really deep interest in this whole process of ageing, what that’s going to look like, and the importance of having a plan to age well and on our own terms.”
After learning more, Kay began her own retirement journey in 2020.
As a Reside ambassador, Kay attends regular Reside events, hosts information panels, meets with residents and represents the Reside difference.
It’s a gig she loves, and Kay particularly enjoys connecting with residents.
“My favourite part would be the people I meet. I spent 40 years on the news desk and speaking to people in their lounges, so it’s nice now to meet some of those viewers who were generous enough to have me in their loungerooms.”
