She joined the team only three years ago, but Brookland Robertson Village Manager Leilani Leslie has quickly made a home within her role and in the community.
In a leap of faith, Leilani Leslie took on the role of Village Manager of Brookland Robertson in mid-2019 and three years on she knows it was the right step to take.
After spending over 20 years working in internal audit, food safety, and compliance roles for a large retailer, Leilani is now living her younger self’s dream in a role exactly what she wished for growing up.
Almost having to ‘pinch herself’ when she comes into work each morning to her favourite place, her job as village manager focuses on being one of the friendly faces ensuring everyone who visits Brookland Robertson has an enjoyable experience.
“Since I started with Reside Communities in mid-2019 I’ve really come to feel like part of the family. I know everyone so well and it makes every day so enjoyable,” said Leilani.
She feels as if she’s part of Brookland’s furniture, taking a seat back every once in a while to enjoy the retirement community where everyone thrives, including herself!
“I really do love my job and feel like I’ve found my calling. It’s such a wonderful community,” said Leilani.
No two days are the same working in Brookland for Leilani, while being able to help residents within their homes and around the community fails to feel like work.
“No two days are ever the same and I love that. Whether I’m chatting to residents and making them coffee or helping them arrange maintenance at their homes, I really love it all. I’ve got the best team and every day is always filled with so much fun and laughter.”
With the Brookland neighbourhood growing as new facilities, services and homes develop the tight-knit community, Leilani’s relationships with residents is also growing stronger.
Waking up with a smile on her face each day, and leaving work the same way, Leilani wouldn’t be anywhere else but Brookland.
